Pacific Financial Aid Association (PacFAA)
PacFAA members share their knowledge of the financial aid application and programs with the community at-large. Presenters receive training during the month of Oct-Nov and are scheduled to offer Financial Aid Workshops at various high school and community locations from Nov-Jan.
PacFAA members who serve on this commiittee work with other committees and the council to develop funding resources. A budget plan is developed and approved by Executive Council at the beginning of each PacFAA year. Committee members develop a plan to seek out financial resources from potential donors to support programs and activities that PacFAA wants to achieve during the year.
PacFAA members attend conferences
to increase our knowledge and understanding of financial aid related
issues while allowing us the opportunity to network with colleagues. PacFAA normally schedules at least one conference each year. Committee members assist in developing the program and theme, site selection, coordinate vendor sponsorship, registration, and hospitality services.
PacFAA members attempt to publish a quarterly newletter known as the PacFAA Times. In order to save money, all members will be notified electronically when the newsletter is available. Members who indicated preference for paper copy on their membership application will receive a hard copy.

PacFAA members provide one-to-one assistance to families in completing the FAFSA in February. An afternoon event filled with lots of activity, prizes, presentations, great information, and fun. Currently held on the island of Oahu and sponsored by USA Funds.
PacFAA members who volunteer on this committee would assist in coordinating workshops and training for PacFAA Members. Some of the tasks involved are: site location, media equipment, costs, registration, announcements, refreshments, etc. Other tasks may include: following up on membership suggestions for training opportunities with the Conference Committee and coordinating a calendar of training dates with electronic services.
PacFAA
supports membership attendance at WASFAA training through our scholarship program. Scholarships provide participants with air fare, housing, and
registration. This committee assists in developing the application, advertising, screening and selection of scholarship recipients. This committee could also develop proposals to the board to meet the needs of both students and aid administrators.
PacFAA members with an interest in web-based technology are encouraged to join this committee. You do not have to be a "techie" to add value to the web site. Assistance is needed if you have a good eye for news or for gathering historical information.
